Would you like to serve the young people of your parish? Teach your Catholic faith to our young parishioners! For the new year, we are looking for catechists, mentors, classroom aides, door monitors, and substitutes! You will receive online or face to face training throughout the year! Initial training will be completed online through LEAD™ and VIRTUS®. Below you will find the requirements and links to websites that you should familiarize yourself with.
¿Te gustaría servir a los jóvenes de tu parroquia? ¡Enseña tu fe católica a nuestros jóvenes feligreses! ¡Para el nuevo año, estamos buscando catequistas, mentores, ayudantes de clase, monitores de puerta, y sustitutos! ¡Recibirá formación durante todo el año! Here are some requirements you must fulfill to be a Catechist in our Faith Formation program:
1. Have faith, personal maturity & obedience to the Catholic Church.
2. That you actively participate in the life of the Christian community.
3. That you be welcoming, generous and live in fraternal communion.
4. That you receive the proper biblical, theological, pastoral and pedagogical formation in order to be attentive communicators of the truth of the faith. (This may be provided by the church, must attend meetings throughout the year)
5. That you have already acquired a previous experience of catechesis
6. You should be collaborators with the priests, deacon and director,
7. You should be willing to exercise your ministry wherever necessary, and should be animated by a true apostolic enthusiasm.
8. You must be 18 years of age or older, married in the Catholic Church or single (NOT civil marriage or living together with boyfriend or girlfriend).
Estos son algunos de los requisitos que debe cumplir para ser Catequista en nuestro programa de Formación en la Fe:
1. Tener fe, madurez personal y obediencia a la Iglesia Católica.
2. Que participes activamente en la vida de la comunidad cristiana.
3. Que seas acogedor, generoso y vivas en comunión fraterna.
4. Que recibáis la debida formación bíblica, teológica, pastoral y pedagógica para ser comunicadores atentos de la verdad de la fe. (Esto puede ser proporcionado por la iglesia, tiene que asistir a las reuniones durante el añor)
5. Que hayáis adquirido ya una experiencia previa de catequesis.
6. Que seáis colaboradores de los sacerdotes, del diácono y del director,
7. Que estéis dispuestos a ejercer vuestro ministerio allí donde sea necesario, y animados de un verdadero entusiasmo apostólico.
8. Debes ser mayor de 18 años, casado por la Iglesia Católica o soltero (NO matrimonio civil o convivencia con novio o novia).
Calling all teens!
We want you! If you are Confirmed and would like to volunteer as a mentor or an assistant catechist, we have opportunities available for you! Come help with our Faith Formation classes. Share your faith, make new friends, have fun, and perhaps learn something new! Helping with Faith Formation counts toward your school service hours, too. Must be 14 years or older.
¡Te queremos a ti! Si estás Confirmado y te gustaría ser voluntario como mentor o asistente de catequista, ¡tenemos oportunidades disponibles para ti! Ven y ayuda con nuestras clases de Formación de Fe. Comparta su fe, haga nuevos amigos, diviértase, ¡y quizás aprenda algo nuevo! ONLINE RESOURCES
All ministers who have direct contact with children must take a course called VIRTUS. This will be provided by the Diocese of Bridgeport. To take the course you must register. There will be times and locations where you can select to take the course. More information can be found at this link.

LEAD is a program administered by the Diocese of Bridgeport. Ministers will need to create an account to obtain learning courses about their ministry. Catechists must complete the course in order to obtain more information about the class and the students. You can log in to the website for more information through this link.
